P3 Therapeutic (P3T) is a preclinical biotechnology company founded in 2024 in Croatia. Our goal is to improve treatment outcomes and the quality of life for patients by creating precise small-molecule drugs (SCM) aimed at resolving chronic inflammation in spondyloarthritis (SpA) and related immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID).
Problem
Chronic inflammatory disorders pose the greatest threat to human health and are the third most common cause of death after stroke and myocardial infarction (MI). Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a group of diseases characterized by pain, stiffness and swelling caused by inflammation in the spine (“spondylitis”), pelvis and joints (“arthritis”). Other common symptoms include heel pain, swollen fingers and toes and eye inflammation. Spondyloarthritis is a public health problem affecting more than 50 million people worldwide and is a significant cause of disability and rising healthcare costs.
Solution
Contrary to the current pharmacological approach, where new anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit a single protein target, we have used network pharmacology to develop novel chemical entities (NCEs) that activate three anti-inflammatory targets (TTA) to resolve chronic inflammation in SpA patients. To create this, we used an innovative “scaffold-hopping” drug-design approach based on natural templates. For further optimization, we plan to use commercial generative AI algorithms to ensure high efficacy and minimal toxicity.
