Ivana Radojčić Redovniković

Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, Zagreb

Ivana Radojčić Redovniković is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology at University of Zagreb. For the last few years, her research team in collaboration with several institutions studied some aspects regarding preparation, characterization and implementation of green solvents in food technology, biotechnology and chemical technology. Currently, she is principal researcher of projects concerning natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES), their preparation, characterization and application in extraction of biologically compounds from food industry waste and in biocatalysis with enzymes and microbes. She published more than 20 scientific papers on NADES, whereby five of them are highly cited papers in the top 1% of the academic field. 

Marijana Đaković

Faculty of Science, Zagreb

Marijana Đaković is a full professor and vice dean for science, projects, and cooperation with the economy at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb. She is the president of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and the secretary of the Scientific Council for Crystallography of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU). She is also a member of the Commission on Structural Chemistry of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). Her areas of scientific interest include crystal flexibility induced by mechanical means, solid-state supramolecular chemistry, crystal engineering, crystallization, and small molecule crystallography. She has published 65 scientific papers in internationally reviewed journals indexed in WoS/Scopus. Her work has been cited over 1200 times, and she has participated in over 100 scientific conference presentations, more than 80 of which were at international conferences. 

Zoran Mandić

Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Zagreb 

Zoran Mandić is a full professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology. He has a background in electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering fields. In the last ten years, his work has focused on the development of advanced electrode materials for energy storage applications, particularly batteries and supercapacitors. The development of electrochemical methods in performance testing and predicting cycle life and SoH is also of increasing interest in his research. He has led several international and national projects, published more than 50 papers in international journals, 3 patents and had many invited lectures at international conferences and events.  

Nedjeljko Perić

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Zagreb

Nedjeljko Perić is a professor emeritus at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, where he has been a full professor since 1997. He was the head of the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, vice dean, and dean from 2010 to 2014. Nedjeljko Perić is a regular member of the Croatian Academy of Technical Sciences and a recipient of the State Award for Science. He is the founder and the first director of the Innovation Centre Nikola Tesla established at the faculty. His professional field is the automation of plants and processes, and he has published numerous highly cited scientific papers and participated in many national and international scientific conferences.

Nikša Krstulović

Institute of Physics, Zagreb

Nikša Krstulović is a scientific advisor at the Institute of Physics, where he serves as assistant director and leads the Plasma and Laser Applied Research Group within the Center for Advanced Laser Techniques. He is the president of the Croatian Vacuum Society and a member of the Board of Directors of the DONES.HR consortium. His areas of scientific interest include laser, low-pressure, and atmospheric plasmas, their diagnostics using advanced spectroscopic techniques, and applications in the development of new materials and laser synthesis of nanoparticles. 

Silvestar Šesnić

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Split

Silvestar Šesnić graduated and earned his Ph.D. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split. He obtained the title of MPhil at the Wessex Institute of Technology, University of Wales, UK. He is employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Power Engineering at FESB and currently serves as the Vice Dean for Science at the same faculty. He is the author of over 80 scientific publications in international journals and conferences and has participated in several international and national scientific projects. 

Sonja Radas

The Institute of Economics, Zagreb

Sonja Radas is a Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Economics, Zagreb, and a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US. She received a PhD in Mathematics and a PhD in Business, both at the University of Florida, Gainesville, US. Previously she was on the faculty of Washington University in St. Louis. She held several visiting positions, most recently a Visiting Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Business. She has published numerous research articles and consulted for American and Croatian companies. She has also served as an expert for the European Commission. From 2015-2018 she has been a Marie Curie Fellow. Sonja is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma. 

Tihomir Balog

Ruđer Bošković Institute

Tihomir Balog graduated and earned his PhD at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry in Zagreb. He is employed as a scientific advisor with a permanent position at the Department of Molecular Medicine at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, in the scientific field of biomedicine and health – the branch of basic medical sciences. He is the head of the Laboratory for Metabolism and Aging at the Ruđer Bošković Institute and teaches at the Faculty of “Biotechnology and Drug Development” at the University of Rijeka. He is the author of several dozen scientific papers. 

Vječislav Bohanek

Faculty of Mining, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering, Zagreb

Vječislav Bohanek graduated and earned his PhD at the Faculty of Mining, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb. He is currently an associate professor and vice dean for finance and business at the same faculty. He has led and participated in a dozen international research projects. He is one of the founders and representatives of the EIT RawMaterials Hub – Regional Center Adria, which serves as a unique informational and educational center for the transfer of knowledge about EIT RawMaterials. Bohanek is the author and co-author of scientific and professional papers in the fields of surface exploitation of mineral resources, blasting, and explosives. For his work, he has received awards such as the PROFFORMANCE International Teaching Excellence Award for the ADRIA Internship programme: broadening University-Business Cooperation (2022). 

Dragan Peraković

Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences

Dragan Peraković graduated and received his PhD from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, where he currently holds the position of Head of the Department of Information and Communication Transport. He is a visiting professor at the Universities of Mostar and East Sarajevo. He is a member of the team of experts at the International Center for AI and Cyber ​​Security Research and Innovations, Asia University, Taiwan. He is a mentor in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at SSBM Geneva. He is a member of numerous associations, such as TM Forum (USA), IEEE (USA), DAAAM International (EU/Austria), SDIWC (Hong Kong), etc. He is the current president of the Croatian Chamber of Transport Technology Engineers. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Croatian Quantum Communication Infrastructure – CroQCI project. His area of ​​scientific interest is research into the application possibilities and modeling of innovative communication ecosystems. He has a strong interest in the domain of cybersecurity and emerging technologies. He is a co-author of more than 220 scientific papers in indexed journals and conference proceedings, and more than 20 chapters in scientific books. He has extensive international experience in project and idea evaluations.

Emil Flatz

Faculty of Architecture - Design Department

Emil graduated from the Faculty of Graphics in Zagreb, and after a short period of work as an independent interactive designer, in 2003 he joined Hrvatski Telekom in the then newly established digital product development sector, where he participated in leading many projects for business and residential users. One of the projects was MAXtv, which after 5 years was used in over 400,000 households in Croatia and was the first commercial project of interactive television within the Deutsche Telekom Group on a global level. After seven years at Hrvatski Telekom, he leaves the company as the director for the development of applications and business solutions. Since 2008, he has been working as an independent interactive designer, where he has realized a number of projects in Croatia and abroad. In 2015, he joined the Faculty of Design in Zagreb as an external expert and is the instructor of the Basics of Interactive Media course at the undergraduate level and Interactive Media at the graduate level. 

Maroje Sorić

Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb

Maroje Sorić graduated and earned his PhD from the School of Medicine in Zagreb. He is the head of the Laboratory for Physical Activity Measurement and Monitoring at KIFZG and is also employed as a research associate at the University of Ljubljana, where he is part of the SLOfit research group, contributing to the monitoring of school children’s fitness. He has published more than 70 scientific papers in international journals, including the world’s most prestigious journals, Nature and The Lancet. According to the Stanford-Elsevier list, he is ranked among the top 2% of the most influential scientists worldwide for 2021 and 2022. He has participated in numerous international scientific projects related to physical activity and health, including three projects funded under the Horizon program. 

Vinko Lešić

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing

Vinko Lešić is an associate professor at FER in the field of control algorithms, optimization, and artificial intelligence in renewable sources and sustainability. He shaped his doctorate as a co-author of a patent into a technology transfer project in collaboration with a multinational research center for aerospace technologies based in the USA. Since then, he has led several scientific research and development projects and his own group of 25 scientists. He has translated his experience in commercializing scientific research through the IEEE association into an international technical entrepreneurship program that has evaluated 800 startups in more than 40 countries in four years.

Tomislav Capuder

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing

Tomislav Capuder graduated and received his PhD from FER, where he now serves as Vice Dean for Research and Innovation. During his doctoral and postdoctoral studies, he spent several months in advanced training at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He is a recipient of the Silver Josip Lončar Award for the best doctoral dissertation at FER and multiple awards for his contributions to development, professional, and research activities. His research interests include electric vehicles, battery storage, advanced energy networks, energy markets, and modeling and optimization of power systems, with a focus on advanced distribution networks. He has led numerous international and national scientific research and development projects and is an active organizer of international scientific and professional conferences.

Alan Mutka

Rochester Institute of Technology

Alan Mutka is a research associate and senior lecturer at RIT Croatia, where he serves as the head of the Information Technologies (Web & Mobile Computing) study program. He graduated and received his PhD from FER, where he was an active member of the LARICS (Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems), contributing to numerous scientific and professional projects. His professional and research interests include robotics, computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), deep learning, visualization, and analytics of big data (Big Data) with a particular focus on behavior analysis in education and cybersecurity. He is the co-founder of Cognitus d.o.o., a company specializing in consulting and developing advanced software solutions. He is the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific papers, published in reputable international journals, conference proceedings and books, and he holds several patents. He is an active project manager, researcher, and collaborator on many industrial and scientific projects in Croatia and the EU.

Marin Vuković

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing

Marin Vuković is an Associate Professor at the Department of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. He graduated in 2006 in the Telecommunications and Informatics program at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, and earned his PhD in 2011 from the same faculty. He has published over 80 scientific and professional papers at conferences and in journals. He has actively participated in panels, round tables, and held invited lectures to popularize the profession and science. He is a co-author of a patent registered with the State Intellectual Property Office. As a leader, researcher, and participant, he has been involved in domestic scientific projects, EU-funded projects, and several projects in collaboration with the industry. His areas of expertise include cybersecurity and machine learning applications. He is the vice-head of the “Laboratory for Information Security and privacy (LISP)” and the “Laboratory for Assistive Technologies and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (ICT-AAC)” at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.

Davor Zoričić

Faculty of Economics and Business

Davor Zoričić is an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, where he earned his degree and doctorate in finance. During his postgraduate studies, he spent several months at the University of California, Berkeley. His areas of interest include financial markets, financial asset management, and the investment project profitability assessment. He has collaborated on numerous scientific research and professional projects, both interdisciplinary and those narrowly focused on finance.

Zlatko Stapić

Faculty of Organization and Informatics

Zlatko Stapić earned a dual doctorate in the fields of Information and Knowledge Engineering and Information Sciences from the University of Alcalá (Spain) and the University of Zagreb. He is currently an Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Teaching and Students at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb. He also leads the Laboratory for Applied Software Engineering. His research focuses on software engineering, development processes and methodologies, software quality, and innovations in teaching, with a particular emphasis on the application of artificial intelligence in education and software system development. He is currently a member of the evaluation committee for applications to the EIC Horizon Accelerator program of the European Commission. He actively contributes to bridging academia and industry through knowledge transfer, student mentoring, and their involvement in scientific and professional projects.

Miranda Sertić

Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry

Miranda Sertić graduated and received her PhD from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. She is currently an associate professor and vice-dean for scientific research at the same faculty. In the last few years, her research team has focused on the development of green analytical methods and innovative methods for the preparation of complex biological samples. She has collaborated on a number of scientific research and professional projects. She is currently the principal investigator on a project dealing with the development of new bioanalytical methods in the personalization of breast cancer therapy.

Ana Baričević

Faculty of Civil Engineering

Ana Baričević is an associate professor and vice-dean for science and international cooperation at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering. Her scientific work focuses on the development and sustainability of construction materials with a low carbon footprint, with a special emphasis on fiber-reinforced composites. She is currently the coordinator of the ReWire project (Cement Composites Reinforced with Waste Fibers), and has participated in a number of national and international research projects. She was a member of the research team of the RUCONBAR project (Concrete Noise Barriers), a successfully implemented example of technology transfer, awarded multiple prestigious international awards.

Tamara Aleksandrov Fabijanić

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture

Dr.sc Tamara Aleksandrov Fabijanić is the director of the Center for Technology Transfer (CTT) of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the FSB. Her work focuses on the development of an innovation ecosystem, technology transfer and commercialization of research results through a strong connection between science and business. She received her PhD from the FSB in the field of materials science and has worked at the FSB for more than 15 years as a researcher and leader of scientific projects. As part of the projects, she established the Laboratory for Powder Metallurgy, in which she conducted research and development of nanostructured hard metals and testing of microstructural and mechanical properties of materials at the micro and nano level. She has led more than 20 projects and is the author of more than 50 scientific papers. She is an assessor of the Croatian Accreditation Agency and the Slovenian Accreditation in the field of testing and calibration laboratories and testing of mechanical properties of materials and products. She has completed training at numerous international institutions in the field of materials and metrology, among which Fraunhofer IKTS, Dresden and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig stand out.
