eDNAture uses environmental DNA (eDNA) technology for fast, reliable and non-invasive detection of traces of organisms from water, air or soil samples. Our goal is to facilitate the monitoring of biological threats, pollution and pathogens in the environment, and to enable timely interventions for protecting human health, food safety and ecosystems. Through the development of simple tools and digital solutions, we aim to make eDNA technology accessible to a wide range of users — from individuals to industry, the public sector and the scientific community.
Problem
The problem we aim to solve is the difficult, slow and costly detection of problematic species and microbiological contamination in water and air, which poses a threat to food safety both in production and processing, as well as a threat to human and environmental health. Classical sampling methods require trained personnel, complex laboratory infrastructure and equipment, and are often not fast enough for timely response. The technology underlying our innovations (environmental DNA, eDNA) enables fast and precise early detection of organisms from environmental samples (water, soil, air), while the innovation of a passive filter that can be easily installed in a space enables accessible and widespread use of eDNA analysis without the need for specialized knowledge or equipment.

Solution
Timely and rapid detection — especially of organisms that are problematic or dangerous — is crucial for making decisions about their management and for preventing hazards and consequences that may arise. eDNAture develops innovative solutions for passive filtration of environmental DNA from water and air. These are simple devices that can be easily used in water or air systems, enabling fast and non-invasive sampling without the need for trained personnel. This system simplifies the collection of samples for detecting any species of interest, primarily dangerous and problematic species/pathogens, with the goal of improving water and air quality control in everyday environments and preventing the occurrence of infections in animals and humans through early detection of environmental issues.
