Problem
More than 30% of total waste generated in the European Union consists of organic waste, which is predominantly disposed of in landfills, causing greenhouse gas emissions and the loss of valuable resources. Although Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology represents a sustainable solution for organic waste processing, existing systems face challenges such as unstable breeding conditions, lack of specialized expertise, high operational costs, and limited scalability. The lack of digitalization and automation further hinders the development of decentralized and sustainable circular economy
systems.

Solution
BIOTFY is developing an intelligent AI operating system for the bioconversion of organic waste using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. The platform integrates biotechnology, IoT sensors, video monitoring, and artificial intelligence to automate and standardize the breeding process while enabling efficient, local, and decentralized bio-waste processing.
The system continuously monitors key parameters such as temperature, humidity, light exposure, and colony development in real time, while AI algorithms automatically optimize breeding conditions to maximize process efficiency. A digital AI assistant enables simple farm management, even for users without specialized biotechnology expertise.
BIOTFY’s modular approach enables the reduction of bio-waste volume by up to 80% within 10 -14 days while simultaneously producing high-value biological resources such as protein meal, oil, organic fertilizer, and chitin. The solution supports the development of the circular economy, reduces emissions, and enables more sustainable organic waste management with minimal environmental impact.
