SCINERGY ’24 is a project aimed at connecting the scientific and business communities for the purpose of commercializing scientific work. The goal of this project is to effectively link the scientific and business communities in Croatia, thereby facilitating the commercialization of research results and the initiation of new projects in collaboration with industry for scientists, while providing companies with access to scientists and the scientific infrastructure needed to enhance existing and develop new market products and services.

Applications are open to all scientists who wish to connect with companies through the SCINERGY ’24 project for the commercialization of their scientific work, the potential initiation of new projects, and collaboration.Companies
All business entities registered in Croatia, regardless of their size and sector, can apply if they need to collaborate with the scientific community to initiate and strengthen their business activities.Why apply?

- Access to available scientific equipment and its usage possibilities,
- Legal support during discussions with scientists to start new partnerships,
- Opportunities for testing and certifying new products and services,
- Presentation of various funding options for potential collaborations between scientists and companies,
- Finding partners for project applications such as “Targeted Scientific Research,” “Strengthening Strategic Partnerships for Innovation in the Process of Industrial Transition,” or “Horizon Europe,”
- Free participation in the two-day SCINERGY ’24 event.

February 8: Project presentation to all selected companies
February 14 – 15: Two-day SCINERGY ’24 event
- day: Speed-dating between selected scientists and companies, presentations of successful collaborations between scientific research institutions and industry, and opportunities for funding such collaborations
- day: Continued meetings and discussions on potential collaborations between scientists and companies through a guided workshop
February 16 – April 30: Guided meetings for establishing collaborations, education, idea validation, legal support, and connecting with funding opportunities for collaboration
ICENT is a nonprofit institution founded by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) with the goal of bridging the gap between research in the academic and research community and the needs of the industry. By facilitating their interaction, ICENT provides space for multidisciplinary research and development, rationalization of application and commercialization of results, and consequently the creation and enhancement of high value-added industry.
NUQLEUS is a research and academic entrepreneurship program developed at FER in collaboration with the Croatian startup ecosystem and implemented within ICENT. Nuqleus is also Croatia’s first deep-tech venture builder, focusing on the development of highly innovative startups and spin-offs based on scientific research results. The aim of Nuqleus is to stimulate and accelerate the commercialization of scientific research and academic community work through the creation of startups, adoption of business knowledge and skills, and connection with the business world.
Participation in the SCINERGY '24 project is completely free for all selected participants.
The project is funded by the European Commission under the initiative “Strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation of Innovation Programs in the EU” and is globally implemented by the World Bank in collaboration with international partners, including London Business School (LBS) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The project in Croatia is led by ICENT, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, and is executed by Nuqleus.
